Job Description Job Description About the Role: As a Pediatric
Dentist, you will specialize in providing comprehensive dental care
to infants, children, and adolescents, including those with special
healthcare needs. Your primary goal is to ensure the oral health
and development of young patients through preventive, diagnostic,
and therapeutic dental services. You will create a welcoming and
comforting environment to alleviate anxiety and foster positive
dental experiences for children and their families. Collaborating
with parents, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals, you
will develop individualized treatment plans that promote long-term
oral health. Your expertise will contribute significantly to early
detection and management of dental issues, ultimately supporting
the overall well-being and confidence of your pediatric patients.
Minimum Qualifications: Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of
Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school.
Completion of an accredited pediatric dentistry residency program.
Valid state dental license to practice in the United States and CA.
Board certification or eligibility in pediatric dentistry (American
Board of Pediatric Dentistry preferred). Strong knowledge of child
development, pediatric oral health, and dental treatment
modalities. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with
children with special healthcare needs or behavioral challenges.
Advanced training or certification in sedation dentistry for
pediatric patients. Familiarity with the latest dental technologies
and minimally invasive treatment techniques. Experience in
community outreach or public health programs focused on pediatric
oral health. Membership in professional organizations such as the
American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the CDA.
Responsibilities: Conduct thorough dental examinations and
assessments tailored to pediatric patients. Develop and implement
individualized treatment plans including preventive care,
restorative procedures, and emergency interventions. Educate
children and their families on proper oral hygiene practices and
dietary habits to prevent dental diseases. Manage behavioral
challenges and anxiety in young patients using appropriate
techniques and sedation when necessary. Maintain accurate and
detailed patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations
and standards. Collaborate with pediatricians, orthodontists, and
other healthcare providers to coordinate comprehensive care. Stay
current with advancements in pediatric dentistry through continuous
education and professional development. Skills: The required skills
enable you to perform detailed dental assessments and deliver
effective treatments tailored to children’s unique needs, ensuring
their comfort and safety. Strong communication skills are essential
for educating young patients and their families, building trust,
and promoting positive oral health behaviors. Behavioral management
techniques and empathy are critical in addressing anxiety and
facilitating cooperation during dental procedures. Preferred skills
such as sedation expertise and familiarity with advanced
technologies enhance your ability to provide comprehensive and
minimally invasive care. Continuous learning and collaboration with
healthcare teams support your role in delivering the highest
