Doctor of Medicine | Hospitalist Location: California Employer: Barton Associates Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Shift Information: 3 days x 12 hours Start Date: ASAP About the Position LocumJobsOnline is working with Barton Associates to find a qualified Hospitalist MD in California! Our client in California is seeking a dedicated Pediatric Hospitalist Physician for a 42-day assignment starting May 1, 2026. This role involves 12-hour shifts with potential for 24-hour shifts, focusing on ER consults, rounding on acute pediatric patients, providing NICU coverage, and managing emergency C-sections. The physician will provide care for common acute illnesses and chronic condition exacerbations, maintaining low patient volumes and remaining on call after morning rounds. Responsibilities and Duties - Provide ER consults. - Attend and admit pediatric patients. - Perform rounds on the acute patient floor. - Offer NICU coverage. - Assist with Emergency C-Sections; preference for Circs. - Manage common acute illnesses, chronic condition exacerbations, and post-operative care. - Perform morning rounds, then remain on call for the rest of the day. - Respond to calls within 30 minutes. - Maintain a low patient volume, typically averaging two patients in NICU and two to three on the patient floor. Additional Information - Board Certification in Pediatrics required. - EMR: Meditech EHR. - PALS required. - Shift hours are typically 12-hour, with 24-hour shifts possible.
