Client is seeking an Electronics Engineering Team Leader to join
their team. Ideally, this position will consist of 80%-85% hands-on
engineering, and 15%-20% of Team Leadership.
The Team Leader, Electronics Engineering leads the development of
cutting-edge vetronics products for DoD applications. This position
will manage in-house engineers and contract support across areas
such as mixed-signal analog/digital design, FPGA/microcontroller
development, and full system integration. The successful candidate
will have excellent communication skills to collaborate closely
with multi-disciplinary teams in electrical, mechanical, firmware,
and software engineering, as well as program tech leads, managers,
and engineering directors.
This candidate will be joining a growing engineering team that
develops cutting-edge, ruggedized military hardware to support
operations via air, land, or sea. Our department focuses on tightly
integrated, compact sensing and computing technologies to deliver
mission critical information. Prior experience working with
ruggedized military hardware is desirable (but not required).
Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership, Design & Development: Lead the electrical
engineering team in new product development to meet customer
requirements and company objectives. Support the definition of
hardware architectures, ensuring alignment with functional
requirements, design re-use, manufacturability, and testability.
Oversee design, analysis, and testing, ensuring compliance with MIL
standards (e.g., MIL-STD-810, 461, 704) and meeting ruggedization,
EMI/EMC, and power requirements. Manage the development of
high-quality documentation packages, including schematics, parts
lists, test plans, qualification reports, and technical manuals.
Guide hardware/software integration and acceptance testing,
providing oversight and feedback on deliverables. Engage in
hands-on design, troubleshooting, and problem-solving as needed in
areas of expertise. Perform other duties as assigned.
Mentorship & Project Support:
Mentor and develop the electrical engineering team to enhance
skills and maintain high performance. Collaborate with tech leads,
program managers, and principal investigators on task assignments,
budget allocation, and project planning. Provide technical insight,
planning, and progress updates to stakeholders to ensure project
milestones are achieved.
Requirements:
Technical Skills:
B.S. or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
8+ years of experience in analog/digital circuit design and
embedded electronics firmware development. 8+ years of using C/C++
while doing electronics firmware development. 2+ years of
management experience preferred. Strong hands-on experience in
designing and troubleshooting microcontroller and FPGA-based
systems. Proficiency in E-CAD tools (preferably Altium) and
generating fabrication/assembly drawings. (Note: Client's PCB's
consist of 8-12 layers). Experience with environmental and EMI/EMC
qualification testing per MIL standards. Strong analytical,
problem-solving, and systems engineering skills. Ability to manage
multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a
fast-paced environment.
"Plus" Skills: Experience with SBIR programs and transitioning
technologies from prototype to production. Familiarity with
military vehicle integration, qualification testing, and field
support. Experience in developing/managing CONOPs, system design,
architecture, and requirements.
