Job Description Job Description Job Title: Commercial Plumber Job Description As a Plumber, you will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair various plumbing and steam systems using tools such as sewer cameras and heavy-duty sewer/drain machines. You will service, test, inspect, and repair equipment including water softeners, steam vaults, steam valves, street mains, medical gas systems, hot and cold loops, boilers, and chillers. Your role includes replacing water filters, defective valves, washers, broken pipes, and unclogging drains. You will assemble pipe sections, tubing, and fittings, and cut openings in structures for pipe fittings, using hand and power tools. You will fill pipes or fixtures with water or air to detect leaks and install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, pumps, appliances, and fixtures. Responsibilities Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair plumbing and steam systems. Perform servicing, testing, inspections, and repairs on various equipment. Replace water filters, defective valves, washers, and mend broken pipes. Assemble pipe sections, tubing, and fittings using appropriate tools. Cut openings in structures to accommodate pipes and fittings. Fill pipes or fixtures with water or air to detect leaks. Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, pumps, appliances, and fixtures. Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes using tools and machines. Perform water treatments and maintain chemical levels in systems. Conduct general building maintenance as needed. Drive vehicles and participate in emergency responses as required. Train apprentices and other workers as needed. Essential Skills 5 years verifiable journey level plumbing experience Knowledge of plumbing, drain, sewer, tubing, brazing, soldering, and piping Proficiency with hand and power tools, panel wiring, and troubleshooting Work Environment This role requires the ability to remain stationary as well as move about the workplace for extended periods. You will need to effectively communicate, operate machinery, and navigate tight spaces. The role also involves working during inclement weather and the ability to ascend ladders or stairs. The work environment is dynamic, requiring flexibility and adaptability to various conditions. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bloomington, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.19 - $30.19/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
